Waves and Leaves [ 8 ・ 8 ] is part of Ruriko Miyamoto’s series A Tale of the Touching Hands, an eight-part sequence that unfolds through touch, bodily perception, and sensory experience. The series begins with In the Beginning [1] and develops through Each [1・1], Sprouts [2], Snake [3], Waves [7・3], and Waves and Wings [8・8], gradually forming a narrative shaped by tactile encounters.
In this work, undulating pages and leaf-like impressions emerge through the act of touch. These forms are not merely visual structures, but traces that arise through physical engagement, where language, nature, and perception overlap within a single field of experience.
Within the series, this piece occupies a pivotal position, revealing how hands, materials, and sensory perception are interwoven into a continuous and unfolding narrative.

《Waves and Leaves》は、宮本ルリ子によるシリーズ《A Tale of the Touching Hands》の一部であり、全8章から構成される連作の第7作目にあたる。シリーズは《In the Beginning [1]》に始まり、《Each [1・1]》《Sprouts [2]》《Snake [3]》《Waves [7・3]》《Waves and Wings [8・8]》へと展開しながら、触覚や身体感覚を起点とした物語をかたちづくっている。
