Chisato Kobayakawa (b. 1997, Hiroshima) is a ceramic artist whose practice reflects the quiet rhythms of daily life and the cycles of nature and birth.
After completing her studies at Hijiyama University Junior College,(2018) she graduated from the Arita Ceramics Program at Saga University in 2020. In 2022, she relocated to the rural town of Akiōta in Hiroshima, where she lives and works closely with the surrounding natural environment.
Her early large-scale piece The Ending Jar served as a symbolic vessel of memory and transformation, and was later revisited in her 2025 solo exhibition The Egg I Decided to Lay. Kobayakawa’s work often draws from personal experiences, gently tracing themes of life, regeneration, and subtle emotional landscapes through soft, organic forms.
